Fellow Bowlers and Members,
One of the projects for Bowls this year is to provide wooden lockers.
Quotations are starting to come in and we would like to know if people
would be interested in ‘hiring’ a locker at R10 per month (R120 per annum).
Please indicate your interest and comment on the appropriate notice board.
The following decision has been reached regarding attire for playing bowls:
League and District Competitions (Men & Women) – BCC new shirts, Official
Club playing sessions – new or old blue shirt or white.
Any other playing session – casual wear.
A big thank-you to everyone involved with the Rusty Nail tournament – it was a
hotly contested match over eighteen ends and a happy ending with Victory to B.C.C.
Our next big occasion will be the Ray Heburn Easter Memorial which will be held on Sunday
8th and Monday 9th April. This is an individual tournament and anyone wishing to participate
is encouraged to put their name down on the list at the Bowls Club House. Come and enjoy a
week-end with us.
The Grading Committee will be announced in the next Newsletter
Your Committee has decided that Saturday afternoon social Bowls will no longer be an official playing session and therefore casual dress
may be worn. Official dress must be worn for all competitions internal or external.
You will notice that the 'frames' board has been completed. Thanks to all for their generosity. The bar extension will begin
very soon so we will be able to enjoy the benefit it will bring.
We are going to look at new/rejuvenated lockers for both men and women as a project for this year and will keep you posted as to
progress there. If you have any further ideas on improvements please pass them on to a Committee member or write to us. Its your
Club remember!!
Anyone wishing to pre-pay their tabs money can do so now. The cost is R150.00 again. Please pay Mervyn directly.
Entry Forms for competitions will be out soon; please, they must be completed and handed in by the 10th October.
This year's Muriel Brand Cerebral Palsey Bowls Fund Raising Day raised a total of R66 000.00 for this worthy cause.... a new record.
